“Syed Nasruddin, better known as “PSY8” began his photography journey in 2001, during the inaugural Super GT in Sepang. Since then, he has expanded his skills to include portraiture and began shooting professionally in 2011. He then began doing commercial assignments in Japan, working on projects that included shooting photos for photobooks, CD artwork covers, and commercial photography for a number of modeling agencies. Among the photography societies in Japan, he is recognized as the youngest photographer to do both, motorsports and portraiture. In his work, he relies largely on ambient lighting, often citing alack of strobism knowledge as the answer to any queries as to why he doesn’t use flash guns in his work. His work is influenced by Minoru Kobayashi, one of the most established motorsports photographers in the world. Often, he can be found lurking on his socials, @psy8.media or traveling back and forth between Malaysia and Japan, chasing cars and idols to be subjects in his photographs. “
